That's been for sale for ages on there.... I always glossed over it due to the lack of pictures....

The description could do with some work as well tbh... would definitely want more pictures before making an effort to go see it.

a few of them have been on there for ages, the one in sydney is still there, but it is no longer under "pirelli".

At the prices they are seling, there is no chance people would buy, plus no photos even worst (the one i got didn't have a photo either, but the price was alot lower, therefore i called).

The other ones are dreaming as well at 42k+ with 20-30000km.

i've never actually seen a yellow one in sydney yet.

Yeah, 38k would be reasonable but doubt many people will pay over 42k for one, right before the new R's are out with AWD.

well slightly different price range, one is 40k and the other one is 60k. I think up to 38-40k is reasonable. I paid 38k for 8000km (with sat nav and reverse), i think that was a great price.

It also depends on options, sat nav is worth 3k, i would take that into consideration. NONE of those have sat nav, so definitely extremely overpriced apart from the 36999 one.

Hard to say yet, some people are saying 55k driveaway for a basic R on a good discount, but yeah probably the next bracket up. I don't think they'll stay at that value though once the Golf R and MK6 GTI are out in full force.

That was a good deal den525, good pickup!

Highway still have one but are holding out for more than i offered, but has been sitting in the sun there for ages and being registered the warranty is running out by the day so lost a bit of interest.

i guess 55k would be a good price, it depends on what they consider options etc.

I don't think GTI and Golf R would go down for quite some time at least 1-2 years, the demand is still so high, with gti waiting list around 6 months at the moment and Golf R waiting list i think would be even longer when it does come out, i'm actually quite surprised dealers are willing to make deals.

For the pirelli you are looking at, what is the price? and what is the price you are after?

So dealers are really stubborn though, cars sitting in the yard for so long but at a ridiculous price. My local dealer have a mk5 gti demo standard with 8000km and counting for sale at 43k (fully optioned). I was like you've got to be joking right! when a mk6 is sitting right next to it demo as well standard, for 43k as well.

in my opinion demo with such a high kms is worst than a 2nd hand car with 10,000km on it. Buyer's price drop as soon as they hit the road but more than likely treat it nicely as it is new, but dealer's doesn't seem to think it concern them... they have randoms revving the crap out of it, car parked in the bright sunshine.

Sorry guys took a while, but here's the email from VW Aus..

                -------------------

                Dear Mr xxx

                Thank you for your enquiry

Below is the answers to the information you requested, hope this helps:

I was wondering whether or not you could provide any details on the numbers of these vehicles that have come into Australia? 500 Pirelli's

I am particularly interested in how many per colour (particularly yellow) -60 available in yellow and how many were 3 door compared to 5 door? And of course, the total number (I was told 400, only a fraction of which were yellow?)-19 yellow 3 door, and 41 yellow 5 door

                ---------------------

                Yellow is indeed quite scarce.

                  Greg!
You are planning to join the Pirelli club?!!
                  Surely not!
I thought you thought it wasn't as good as your R32? And that the seats were ugly??

While it may be scarce, it still isn't a very popular colour and prices for yellow ones aren't any higher than ones in other colours.

                    • Me thinking that they are near similar numbers to the colours of black, silver and blue ones that came in. By no means are yellow ones scarce

41 yellow 5 doors exist in Australia? That's pretty scarce by anybodies reckoning mate.

And if they were similar in numbers across the range, then there would only be 240 pirellis, not 500. (60 in yellow, silver, blue and black makes 240).....

Given yellow is not everyone's cup of tea, but I'd be willing to wager if the pirelli is remembered long term - it's gonna be the yellow one that is mainly identified among the enthusiasts as it's unique to the relli.

And oh, new yellow's were all sold by mid-late December 08. New OTHER colours were still available up until a few months ago.. That's gotta tell ya something.

Now that I think of it, I don't think I've ever seen a silver pirelli.. There's probably not too many of those either. Blue and Black seem to be the most common.

                        • Opps, my bad, I should have looked at you calculations a little closer...

Dont take this the wrong way mate but they may have sold first but there are a few people trying to unload them at the moment.

I would say blue is the least common that I have seen getting around, followed by silver.

Black seems to be the most common colour, but then again its the best

Yeah there might be a few coming on stream soon with the R coming.

I did ask the chick from VW for breakdowns of each colour, but that's all I got...

Either way, there's not too many of them. I'm keeping mine pristine (only done 4,000 kays) and it only gets driven a bit on the weekends. Kind of my tribute to the mighty Mk5 it is...

Actually, when I was buying mine in June 09, the last five 3dr Pirellis were all Silver and a large number of 5Dr in Silver were also available. And there was a fully optioned new 5DR Yellow still available - a cancelled order.
