Just curious guys, do your pirelli's have the pirelli symbol on the steering wheel?? like this...
Or does it just have GTI on it??? mine only has GTI... is mine a fake? because the pirelli sign looks really cool, and even on the brochure it only has GTI on the steering wheelLast edited by Guest; 20-03-2010, 10:42 PM.

That Pirelli badge is a mock up - using photoshop probably - for advertising. It was probably not changed when they decided to dump it in production.

On a related note - I love the steering wheel in general
Wouldn't that make yours just like everyone elses? Or is it just me who likes special things.... reason why i got a Pirelli was because there is only 400 out there, i wouldn't want to be the same as everyone else... hence i want the pirelli emblem on the steering wheel...
One thing i noticed is that a black gti is the same as a black gti pirelli... well it looks the same because gti usually has the black back bumper on all cars, well for black it would be black on black anyway lol

Anyone who knows the differences between a Pirelli and a regular GTI would be able to see past the lack of badges to identify the difference. The wheels are the biggest give away (of course a GTI owner could have Pirelli wheels... but yeah)...
The colour coded bumpers are the next clue... but as you've said, this is less noticeable when looking at a black GTI (and my Pirelli is black)...
My consideration is whether the impact of a clean rear tail gate gives an overall better impression than a couple of badges...
I debadged my first car and re-badged by S15 with Silvia badges for a cleaner look...
Basically its not the badge that makes the car special really.. in my opinion.

Oh - I also meant to say that it might be different for me a bit as well as I live in Hobart. There's certainly a few GTIs on the road but they're not hugely common so the car stands out a bit as it is... and there's not many GTIs to distinguish my car from... (ie - no-one getting in who looks at the steering wheel would ever have seen a GTI to know that mine has a different badge)
