Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

        Hi.

I just put a set or Pro-Rack ones on mine for a trip, they are good and think they look a bit sportier that than Thules.

I've currently got the Rhino 2500 Sportz on my MY08 GTI and am very happy with them. I like the way their clean lines suit the car. I've had everything from surfboards to timber on the racks and they've been great! No complaints so far.

I've got Rola racks for my GTI and I wouldn't recommend them.

For some reason, the rear bar is really hard to jam on and the pads on the front don't sit flat. The pads are one size fits all and they don't follow the curves of the roof.

Anyway, I'm not a fan and I take them off when I'm not using them.
