  • 06 Jetta TDI DSG what next?

My wife and I have enjoyed the diesel Jetta for 3 and a half years but the 4 year lease is up in less than 6 months. The logical replacement would be another diesel Jetta but it is not really an upgrade especially with the DPF (we don't have one)

I have checked Honda Accord Euro and Subaru Liberty but not really!! they're not in the game. BMW and Merc are just over priced.

I recon we will keep the 06 Jetta as nothing else tops it for the driving we do - around town and an annual road trip up the east coast (from Adelaide) At 60,000K it got a few Ks in it yet.

Any ideas?? (by the way the boss has ruled out a R36)

    cheers Macca

What about a 2.0T petrol Jetta?

    Or a 125TDI Jetta?

I would try and hold out for the all new,2011 Jetta 6.

Thats what I am going to try and do if my Jetta gets written off over the hail damage.
I will need an interim car,and might consider a used
5 year old Corolla for a year.

The Jetta is very hard to beat...

          Macca,

I know where you are my Jetta is 4 years soon with 120K needs timing belt, tyres rego and a bit of love.

I think this car is great like you cant see myself getting a jetta that looks the same.

Went to the stealer yesterday to talk about GTD, although the car will be here in may or june thay dont know any pricing.
I wont comit till I know the price.

I will most likely just go the Golf 6 TDI.

I'm at a similar point with my Jetta. Coming up to 3 year / 70,000km & although used for work I'm not tied into a lease.

It's hard to justify selling as it just drives so well.

I'm thinking about a mid life spruce up 18's, Audio, performance tuning, etc before eventually going for a Jetta VI.

                60,000 k's, it's still a pup! .

I'm with the other guys, renegotiate the lease for another 2 years then get the all new one -

                nice.

Pretty sure we've just caught a glimpse of what the Mk6 Jetta's gonna look like.

                    Thanks for the feedback.

I am really concerned about a new diesel. The city driving we do would absolutely kill a dpf. I used to love to read the thread "to smoke or not to smoke" I think it was. Yes I light it up occasionally. That torque is brilliant around town and overtaking on the open road can't be matched in any of the Jettas contemporaries.

The Jetta 6 concept car looks very good, I am going to check the lease company about an extension otherwise I will pay it out ($12K) and see what turns up in 2011 maybe a Jetta 6 petrol???

                    cheers Macca
