Jetta Turbo FSI 2.0 - what's it worth?

Found one that seems within reach finally - interested in your opinions as to what its worth. Offered to me at 23,500 by dealer. 73,000km. No extras.

Since I will also pay extra for the extended warranty, I'm hoping to do a bit better than this.

I can still remember the sweet thrust as the turbo kicked in

I reckon depending on your negotiating skills, you could get clostridium to 21 or even 20..

You wont get the factory extended warranty if its over 3 years, and the used car warranty isn't worth the paper its printed on.

The VW dealer said it is factory extended warranty for 3 years/60,000km underwritten by Allianz. That's the official one in the sticky isn't it?

Just need to finish negotiations and offload my Magna now..

Unless the car was first registered after March 2007 there is no way you can get the factory extended warranty, absolutely no chance as once it goes one day out of warranty it cannot be extended except with the useless second hand car warranty.

Thanks Maverick- I'll check since the negotiations are progressing and I absolutely will not buy a VW with DSG unless there's full warranty coverage.

Why the heartache about the dsg / warranty combo? I know loads of people including myself with an MY06 with DSG that have been are are still flawless... I'm up to 80,000km and the only time I used warranty was to fix a leaky sunroof....

Same reason you insure your house against fire - it may be unlikely but you are screwed if something happens and your'e not covered.

Replacing a DSG box would have to be around $8,000.

Have agreed on price with dealer and just need to get my car sold now. Can't wait.

So I got my car sold and paid a deposit to the dealer - pick the jetta up next week. It is the full factory extended warranty for 60,000 km/ 3 years underwritten by Allianz. I am looking forward to this car!
