I have a set on the 5dr .:R which are OEM. (Front doors only)

They come from the Jetta accessory range. They are not designed to be removed all the time (for washing etc). They are supplied with double sided tape, which (when installed correctly) work very well.

Cost? I got a pair for $75 from the dealer.

It's 45 Euro. But you can add up a further 4 pairs for that.

Thanks Steve, however those are actually locally made ones like most of the bonnet and headlight protectors that the local car dealers sell in Australia.

The ones by Heko aren't held on by double sided tape primarily so won't drop off when the tape perishes.

Fair call. That is the first mention of the HEKO product in this thread.

Searching the 'net shows that the HEKO product may appear to have a 3 year warranty. Same as the part I purchased from VW.

          I notice that
The Wind deflectors fit into the window rubber and are fitted without any tape or clips, they simply fit under stress.
How secure is the HEKO product, if you leave the car locked, with the windows down a fraction?

These are the installation instructions on the Heko site:

              Thanks for the link.

Certainly is a simple method to install.

Unfortunately, it still doesn't address my question re the security of the shield if the windows are left down (say 5cm). Also...do these have a 3 year warranty (as suggested in the link, earlier in this thread)?

Has anyone had any experience with the HEKO product?

If you do a search online you will find other car forums where it has been well received.
