  • R-line emblem placement - your thoughts?

I have been toying with the idea of having the R-line emblem placed on the fenders, just begind the front wheels, to add a little minor customisation. This emblem is the following one:

I have taken a pic of where I (roughly) would like to place it. I want there to be some kind of 'flow' with it s placement so it doesnt look out of place, so I've chosen 2 heights. 1 option is in line with the protective strips on the front doors. The second option is in line with the door handles.. Any ideas?

Personally I wouldn't do it. I think you've been spending too much time looking at the hektik fully sik ghetto rice bois in their Civics and Skylines in Sunnybank.

The whole point of having the indicator in the side mirrors is to give the body panels a nice clean finish. You already have an .:R logo on the back and front of the car and due to the blue in the badge pictured, it does not match with these ones and the nice clean look will be gone.

If you have to do it, I would put it on the side skirt. My thoughts on the matter anyway.

That said it is your car though so you can do what you want.

    Cheers,
    Trent

Edit: Oh and the emblems won't be facing the same way on each side of the car so it'll look extra naff...

Howzabout where the door trim ends? Between the door trim and where the door begins...

When VW add the Individual badge, they put it about level with the door handle.

That'd probably be where I'd put it if I was going to add a badge.

As Treza said, if you don't have left and right hand badges don't do it.

If you do, I think level with the body protection moulding is the way to go.

            Good luck

Don't stick it on at all. I removed all of mine except for the one in front. Easier to clean.

Top location: It's in the middle of nowhere.

At level of door trim: Looks like a souped up Holden Astra (that's where they also put the nomenclature for the model)

Alright, I've decided against it. Thanks for all the input. I might get the S6 DRL instead, if i can find a good looking 'soft-switch' for the centre console, next to the tyre pressure monitor button. I made up the term soft-switch as I dont know what to call it, but it will work like this: the DRL will be powered off the cig lighter as per advice in another post, which obviously will come on automatically whenever the car is started, exactly what i want. But when you press the switch, there is no hardware off/on, just a single press disables the lights, and another press switches it on again, however, if you switch the lights off, then turn the car off and on again, the lights come on, kind of like a temporary disable button. Make sense? I will post this in the other thread though.
