Mk5 limiter Kit?

I recently brought some Oem 18" rims for our new jetta.

Now when i brought them, vw were telling me that i need a limiter kit and fender flares.

So what is a limiter kit? They couldn't give me an answer when i asked them but they presumed it was some sort of extra rubbers or something.

Can anyway help?

Did you buy them through the dealer or yourself?
I would just fit them.. i dont foresee many issues if the rest is stock

I brought the rims only from vw, I'm sourcing tyres through a mate and fitting the wheels myself.

If I had of got vw to fit the wheels before I picked the car up, they said by law they would if had to fit the flares and limiter kit.

There was no way I was having the flares but no one had an explination for the limiter kit is.

I'm just keen to know what it is and if I need it.

18" wheels

I have O.E.M. 18" Charlston wheels which were fitted new at time of purchase and have no problems whatsoever.
