Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

this is my graph below, please note i ran 2 settings.

200.4kw running on low boost setting with gave me a linear power and torque.

192kw is running on high boost which gave me nice beefy power curve and torque. this is my everyday tune.

I have noticed that my high boost setting is the best everyday as it comes on strong and it is usable power. this is the tune which has eatten E46 M3s and even a GT3 from the lights, however both will eat me around the track but down here in Melbourne we do not have a track as usable as eastern creek so we resort to straight line to see whos got the biggest......

we are stilling doing a few more fine tuning to work out what is the ideal settings for the car. hopefully by the next meet i will be more ready unlike this one which was an overnight drama.

thanks for everyones support in my build on here and on golfmkv

p.s all figures are off pump 98 caltex votex from Yea.

Was this K04 dyno day only ?

If yes what was a point comparing AWD S3 with FWD GTI and Pirelli's (BTW GTI and Pirelli are different gear ratio).
Different ratio will effect not only max power reading but also torque and power curve.
Comparing 3 different ratio cars would be more acurate if done in 5th gear (closest to 1:1 ratio).

Apparently the aim of the day wasnt really to compare. Moreso to collect data

That would make sense...........expecially if there were Giac/APR/etc. tuners collecting data to improve maps........

We are still sorting through all the data with the help of Mainline.

There were over 60 runs, with dyno data & internal vehicle data logging, including:

                      - Starting & finishing intake temps

                      - Projected & actual EGT's

                      - Requested & actual boost

                      - Derived torque vs RPM

                      - Fuel rail pressure - requested vs actual

Mainline have made some comments on the data collection & some users information is in this thread:

Once it's all collated (with the derived torque vs RPM) I'll try to post a summary here.
