Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Time for a makeover

Picked up the car this morning after having it colour coded. I wish I'd had it done ages ago. Anyway, better late than never I guess.

Also had an OSIR Design FCS GT2 V3 front lip fitted, together with a carbon fibre FCS GT2 splitter. Finished off with a carbon fibre rear DTM GTI V2 valence.

On the whole I'm very pleased with the result. I may have lost a little bit of ground clearance at the front but not too much. Here are some "rushed" photos that l took on the way home from the panel shop.

Noice, pass on tails and lower it. But sweet TR. Could be a promo vehicle, especially with the plates

Car looks great....very neat mods......i'm just starting my mods and have a few similar items on my list. Where did you get your led tail lights and the CF rear valence?

CF valence is from Rennenhaus.com.au who is the Australian distributor for OSIR Design.

I got the LED tails through Parts4euro.com. I did some research the other day for a member on the mk5 forum and found that there's only US$10 difference between TMtuning.com's price and Parts4euro. If you're looking to order soon, might l suggest you email both companies to find out about stock. There are people on the mk5 forum who are complaining about slow delivery from TMtuning at the moment.

Love everything except the solid mesh infills next to the main air dam.
If they were the hollow honeycomb it would be a perfect looking ride imho.

The kit loks ace, especially the black bits..

When you fit them it will look as good as it could ever be.

Great work on the subtle mods.

They're don't match terribly well, but you get the general idea. I must say, and this sounds a bit cheeky, but the car looks better in the flesh than in the photos.

I usually laugh when people say that it should have looked like that from the factory, but the Mk5 rear bumper always made wonder why, especially on the GTI, the section you've left at the bottom does not make it look like a blob of red.
