Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    Gran's new GTI

    I picked up my mother-in-law's new GTI from the dealer and we dropped it off to her tonight. She's thrilled to bits as it was a surprise gift. After an A190, I'm predicting speeding tickets.

    Is she Australia's oldest GTI owner at 76?

    She is going to be the coolest Gran in town.

    Any reason why you didn't got for a more sedate golf. Say a 2.0FSI or TDI for Gran ?

      I figured when she's too old to use it I might as well have something I'd like to drive. The more sedate Golfs are nice and all, but the GTI is special. I reckon the GTI is a fantastic bargain.

                im guessing the e class estate is the mrs the gallado is weekend and m5 is daily driver, grans car is a present rewarding her i say good on you hope she enjoys it

                        Good thing you got her a 4 door, makes it easier for her friends to get in & out at lawn bowls

                        I think that is great & yes - probably the oldest GTI driver in OZ.
