  • Colour coded GT Sport rear valance

    Hey guys,

Anyone colour coded the original GT Sport rear valance, instead of replacing it with the GTI version first, and then colour coding the top section? Im tossing up between both but havent seen any good pics of the original one colour coded. Some people seem to say that it is too much with the original. Please post any pics or let me know what you think.

    thanks

    Hey Andrew -

i'm pretty sure mischa colour coded his rear valance. there is a thread about the mods he has done.

have a search or just PM him for some pics.

IMO colour coding the GT valance looks ok for the out lay ($$$).

    good luck

stock GT real valance makes the car look like a fatty boombah when its colour coded. Id price up a GTI one as it has the styling lines to break it up a little bit.

Thanks guys for your input. Ive managed to secure a GTI rear valance from golfmkv for a good price so I think Ill go with that. Now just to find those 18" Charleston alloys in Aus for a decent price.......

Sorry to bump, but I've now had my gti valance colour coded and fitted, so I thought I would share a few pics. enjoy....

BTW - colour coding was done at Jack Hillermans - Artarmon NSW who were great to deal with, fast turnaround as well. Definitely recommend.

not sure exactly what you mean, but in regards to the painting, I left it in the hands of the guys above. I did specify that I wanted the smooth finish which meant they needed to fill the bumper first. Sorry dont have much detail, but it looks pretty much exactly the same as the rest of the car.

What in your mind is a decent price? I was considering selling mine at some point in the future.

Hey Spiff, that plan has since changed and I am now going with a different set of aftermarket wheels. Thanks for getting in contact anyway. As to the price you might get it will depend on condition of the rims, and whether any tyres are included, but I would guess somewhere between 1000 and 2000 dollars...

Ahh ok, well that's good then When I was enquiring about mine., he cut a piece of my old bumper and painted over it. With one layer; it was really bumpy and had a massive orange peal effect. With two layers; it was smooth and identical to the rest of the car.
