That's one hell of an Audi rear end.

Definitely knocks the scirocco off the 'pretty vw' perch IMO.

That's an engine variety, one that I'm politely ignoring until they become interesting.
I meant awd/fwd variants.

Straight off the bat. I don't get on the late model sections anymore for various reasons, but had a quick glance at this.

I'll say I haven't been a fan of the VW styling for quite some time & none of them have ever jumped out at me inc.l the new scirocco

but this coupe jumped out at me straight away!

I love the body lines, roof line's & full body sillouette!

I could go further & say I'd like it a heap more if it had a standard issue performance RWD driveline lay out incl. longitudinal engine, trans & IRS rear end setup

But I'm pretty confident VW engineers & designers don't share my views on what is considered a real performance car, but...

I reckon if one of these were powered by the R36 or the up & coming R20T running gear, this could be a real winner & also very rapid too!


But I'd take the interior in black & suede! I work on these things & know exactly how dirty the lighter colored interiors can get & they are horrible! Especially the cream! YUCK!

Yeah, you know the drill.

But, given it's a concept only at this stage, Volkswagen are flogging their Hybrid technology. There's a 110kW 1.4 litre TSI and a 20kW leccy engine to go with.

0-100km/h in 8.6, with a top speed of 227km/h.

4.2l/100km and CO2 emissions of 98g/km.
