Coolant level seems to have settled.
Some oily fingerprints and marks on the pale grey part of the engine cover.
Wonder if there's a standard solution?
Not looking forward to taking it off just to clean.MY09 Golf Candy White 2.0 TDI Pacific

BUMP!!!
Back in January 11th 2010, I started this thread about my coolant check light
I started the engine and basically the MFD told me to check coolant
Now I took the advice from that thread. took it into Denlo VW at parramatta and they said it was a radiator issue. it was replaced under warranty and everything was fine
on the way to work today, while driving, the coolant light comes up again. I check the coolant and its very low.
So i top it up with some water I had in the car as I have the VW G12 coolant bottle at home. Coolant is still pink enough and I just filled it with about 200ml of water....shouldnt do harm. filled it to the minimum line
Just wondering though, is this normal? I mean after the radiator fix, its only been 6 months....how often should coolant be topped up? is it cuz the jetta is a TFSI? it shouldnt eat coolant up like that though should it? 6 months?
how often does everyone top up their coolant?

Doesn't sound normal to me.
If they used the OEM G12 coolant, you should be able to see the white "dust" it leaves behind when it leaks and dries.
My coolant only gets topped up when I get a service. Same with oil. I always glance at it but it doesn't leak.
