You could get an ECU upgrade.

Exactly, go get an ECU upgrade and you'll get a power increase and better economy. Although remember - on a NA car you won't get getting a massive increase of power.

I have a tune and I have not seen an improvement in fuel economy.

Trade it in for a mk6 TSI?

A panel filter and exhaust may help it breathe a bit better, but you wouldn't get your money back in fuel savings.

Best bet: change your driving style to improve fuel economy. Read the manual for the recommended change points.

Take the spare and the back seat out to save some weight if you're really keen.

Could that be because you drive like a maniac? but I have seen a great increase. I think now I get about 780km instead before I got about 740ish. Sure it's not massive but it's still an increase.

My TDi is defiantly doing better on diesel with the ECU flash and is so much more fun to drive!

I don't rate that bad if it's through traffic.

My right foot has been munching on cake and greasy chips and my car is a GTI so should use more fuel.....with the APR stage 1 I manage around 8.5 average.....if I put my grampa hat on I can get it down to around 7.9-8.0....at the track my best (higher being better ) is 32
