GTI Aftermarket Leather - possible?

No, he clearly said it had the cloth standard, which means it would either be aftermarket or his heated seats were from his body heat

I just spoke to a company then. Quite an involved process!

This is why we are the only aftermarket leather supplier in Australia that is accredited to fit Airbags.
Airbags were our main concern when we began business, and that is why we have gone that extra distance to attain fitment and manufacturing certificates.
I have attached all the information below.
Your mate is correct also. We have to use a specially formed stitching on all airbag seams. This stitching is not as strong – allowing the seam to tear open when an airbag deploys.

Here's hoping that everybody who's had their leather installed has had it done by somebody who used the proper stitching

I know when the sister in law was speccing her car a few years back (non VW) she wanted black leather which wasn't an option, but the dealer had it re-trimmed for her. Looked just about factory.

If you find a good trimmer anything is possible (including keeping the heated seats) but I'd guess you'd be looking at $2,000 ish. When it comes to new cars and the price of "factory" leather it's almost worth finding a good trimmer and buying the cloth variant and getting it done after market

Anybody care to say what they think the following cars are realisticly worth?

06 Gti Manual Cloth 60k ODO
07 Gti Manual Leather 36k ODO (all 4 rims heavily scratched, 3 months warranty remaining)
08 Gti Manual, Leather, ipod, bluetooth 45K ODO, 18 months warranty remaining

Why not wait to see what R20 pricing is like, before buying this R32, because even when they are released, the R32's will still drop again in price.

I'd bet on a drop in resale on carsales, if the R20's start at $~ $57,000 which is the converted NZ price.

You'll have to wait and see what the prices are like when it comes out i guess. The R could still be quite expensive with a few options & may not feel as fun to drive.
