  • Displaying iPod track names

My 07 MKV 2.0 TDI Golf has factory GPS and iPod interface. Works only off the first 5 playlists with "CD 6" being the whole ipod.

Is there any way to get a firmware patch to allow this system to display the track names on the screen?

Option 1. Perform a hardware upgrade to a third generation head unit and the MDI interface.

Option 2. Find one of the discontinued denison ipod interfaces that will send the track info to the head unit/MFD but I don't think it displays it on the old sat nav screen.

It is very disappointing that the company that makes my system aren't prepared to upgrade or improve their product. When you consider the cost to upgrade to a RNS510 system aftermarket.

That doesn't make any sense and seems very unreasonable IMO. You're asking for new features that were never advertised at the time you purchased and that aren't possible due to the technology used?

Volkswagen have released third generation head units and options since you purchased that do everything you're now asking for.

Volkswagen do release new features often on their third generation gear because the technology used allows this. These new features are at no cost.
