  • 2006 TDI Clutch Problem

    Hello,
I am having some issues with the clutch in my Mk 5 TDI golf. When cold the take point for the clutch is very close to the floor, after a while it returns to normal, only to do the same thing if left for a few hours. There is minimal restance through the first 2/3 of pedal travel when it is playing up. Any ideas where to look/what to look for? Any places to download a shop manual?

    Cheers Chris

sounds like a leaking seal somewhere.

either the clutch master cylinder or the slave cylinder.....

+2 on that, sounds all too familiar. Has the car had 2 yearly brake fluid changes as suggested, which is all about preventing this corrosion?

Could be air in the line - have you tried bleeding it to see if that helps ?
