Is the 3 year warranty transferable?

Hi guys,

A quick question regarding the VW standard 3 year factory warranty, is this still valid if I purchase the car second hand, or does it only apply to the original owner?

I ask this cause Im looking at a 2008 GTI and im just concerned about the DSG recall and the known problem with the Air-cond compressor. Im hoping in the event there is a problem, I will be able to claim this under warranty..

And how do I arrange an extended warranty? Is it just a matter of ringing a VW service department and arranfing it through there??

the factory warranty IS transferable.

also, you need to go get the extended warranty sorted out BEFORE the factory warranty runs out.

any vw dealer can do this for you, though it pays to shop around, as some want more than others for the same thing.
