golf tdi 2006 noise in reverse

hey all...
hope someone can help, got a golf tdi 2006 that makes a clunk when reverse parking slowly and then applying the brake. sounds like it is coming from the rear (left side maybe)...

"IF" nothing else loose may be just pad knock as they lock in opp diesction.
ie, normal clearance between pads and caliper.

i have the exact same thing in my 05.. when i test drove the car i thought i hit something!

will new pads remove the noise?
