  • What PSI run on the Golf?

Want to find out what the factory psi for the turbo in the Golf 2.0T Mk5 & the Mk5 Pirelli?

Also when chipped/flashed what the psi for the turbo for both again?

Let use APR as an sample.

What are the limits you can push with stock internals?

    Thanks

Not talking tune specific and it does vary depending on gear.

But generally a GTI stock will spike to 12-13psi and hold around 9 - 10.

    A tuned GTI will normally spike 20 - 22psi and hold around 14 - 15.

Stock internals are slight different things on the GTI and GTI Pirelli - the key differences are here:

I was told the APR tune yields another 3 psi

Slightly off topic- read following from webwombats review of gt tsi:

The engine can rev to 7000rpm and has a cast iron engine block (crank case) for durability and because the forced induction systems pump high levels of boost pressure - up to a manic*2.5 bar (36 psi) - the intake manifold is made from steel instead of cast iron which gives it a higher heat threshold. The supercharger is a small roots-type unit from Eaton, while the turbocharger is from BorgWarner.*

36psi!! I feel a little guilty for squeezing the throttle ad subjecting my wee 1.4 to all that pressure!

anyone know about the psi of new R line 2.0 opposed to gti 2.0? I'm pretty sure I read somewhere it is sourced from the Audi S3?

I didn't know there was that much different between the 2.

Put a boost gauge on it and you will see all the psi's to your hearts content. When you coming round so I can have a drive?
