I vote for pirelli as well.

However, im definitely not a fan of the tyre tread treatment on the seats, or the yellow stitching. Looks very tacky in my opinion. Thats what put me off buying one. Instead i bought a standard MKV GTI, got it GIAC'd and couldnt be happier with its performance. Not to mention saved $13k

Wrt to the seats - I felt the same when I first saw one. But it has grown on me and I don't notice it now. The price difference when I bought mine was like $3-4K.

I was the same at first too and of course it has grown on me, I love the seats and yellow stitching but I guess people have different tastes. I think I got my Pirelli brand new very close to a same spec'ed GTI

A scapegoat is almost as good, as a solution to the problem.

Sounds like you got yourself a good deal. If that was the difference in price then i would of gone the pirelli too.
