  • Pod air filter question - open or closed?

    Hi

My GTi Mk5 has a Neuspeed p-flow pod filter needs replacing as the gauze is damaged in places.

In Perth so will prob have to put on what I can find here, like K&N pod.

Question is, I have noticed some of the pod filters are open at the end, whereas mine is closed. Can one use either? It appears that the open ones would let gunk in or am i missing something???

Might try a mushroom one too if anyone has any experience with these?

    Appreciated

rocket industries are the place to go for K&N

look 'em up and give 'em a call - good people to deal with.

thanks fourmo. I guess that means if using the open one, you have to have a filter or 'gate filter' between the pod filter and the intake. Like which used to be on the oem one....?

those open ended filters are fine, if they're the ones im thinking probably better and dont allow any unfiltered air and you would be able to direct air from your fogs to it nicely..
