Make sure you don't burn your hand .

I just noticed a few GIAC people getting their backs up.. I asked that to eliminate that as the problem, given the Giac/Pirelli problems lately.

thestu probably had his removed because Volkspower weren't sponsors who he was clearly advertising.
Makes sense, but it was fairly big.

This whole thread is going all off topic and is becoming of litle value to the guy with a problem, thanks to the likes of a few individuals.

I thought a forum was to help people out and be sociable.

I think all the info has been provided to point him in the right direction, but would be better off going back to the vendor and/or a mechanic to get it looked at.

It's a good starting point but it won't get fixed over the computer, and haven't head back since the first post .

I suggested it a few times, just up to him to go and get it looked at.

What's wrong with you calling people names?

Actually you took what was a to the point question and twisted and turned it to suit yourself. Look at my question and take a look at your response.

At what point did I bash GIAC? At no point, I asked a simple question that was blown out of all proportion by yourself and Lucas.

You guys are great, we don't get away with any of this sort of banter in the Polo section.

                        thanks for all the responses.
After searching thru the net and reading similar experiences, im almost certain it is a coil pack/ignition coil issue. A well known problem with earlier VWs and also 06 and 07 MKVs.

Chipped or not chipped, this problem would of occurred regardless. I also had concerns that the car idled a little rough when i first purchased it. It seems that was the beginning of the ignition coil failing. I have one month left on warranty, the bad news however is apparently when one fails, they all begin to fail shortly after.

Im taking it to get looked at next tuesday, i will post the outcome.

Sorry you had to read through all that Christos.

hope you get it sorted out though. if it ends up being the coil packs, push to have them all replaced.

also where abouts in Melbourne are you located? We may be able to assist with a vag-com scan to pin point what is throwing the CEL.

Good news, good if it turns out to be somthing simple. May be an idea to set it back to stock if you're going to try claiming on warranty.

Great to see you've been pointed in the right direction and that you have a good idea about what could be causing the problem.

As for this thread, it's done more than run it's course. I won't say anymore as I might get infracted
