Still researching. Found that Borla do a cat-back for the mkv 1.4 jetta tsi http://www.v3advantage.com/borla/ (under table of contents [bottom left] - european applications)
Worked out that the mk5 1.4 jetta tsi 118 kW is 160hp.. but based on year (2009), it's listed as the mk6 on borla's catalogue.
Anyway, that's the closest to anything meant for the jetta tsi. still looking for a turbo back option.
p.s. they have hk, taiwan dealers. i wonder if these would offer cheaper shipping prices than the US. i should imagine so.'09 Jetta 1.4 TSI 7spd DSG in Platinum Gray

Just an observation:
the only difference between the Jetta & Golf Millteks appears to be that the Jetta's final muffler runs along the axis of the car, whereas the Golf's runs across the car. Can't imagine that there'd be a scrap of difference in back pressure &c...2007 Golf GT | DSG | TR | roof | iPod rubbish | R line fog grilles | R satin mirror caps | R pedals | R console trim | colour coded GTI valences | R32 Ormanyts

a clip of the Jetta TSI exhaust.
You could ask bestexhaust.com.au if they could supply the exhaust since they are a Borla distributor or euroexhausts.com.au and get a quote from Wal who i HIGHLY recommend. He doesnt seem to be in it really for the profit and has been the best option for me sourcing my arqray exhaust which was cheaper then sourcing it from Japan directly.
Hope that helps

Thanks.
I've seen that video heaps of times and still like it. I gave up after realizing there weren't any distributors in WA; but after finding out that nobody else even had anything remotely close, I looked at it again and found it was only a cat-back. I think it would be better to go turbo-back if I'm going to go it at all.
ANyway, I've written to both places. So, let's see.. I'm also waiting to see if Guy and team are planning anything in the near future. (hopeful)..otherwise maybe customisation might be the way to go.
Is there anything to know if I intend to get the APR ecu? Are there certain parameters/specs to be aware of for the exhaust component? Or, is it just a simple matter of getting the exhaust first, then getting the tune to fit the exhaust?
still learning..'09 Jetta 1.4 TSI 7spd DSG in Platinum Gray

I spoke with Guy at APR just now.
They have plans to develop something for the 1.4 Jetta TSI if there is sufficient interest to make it economically viable - say, about 20 customers?
I've posted on a Singapore forum as VW is marketing the 1.4 Jetta there quite heavily, so just wondering if any others are interested in this? Hopefully, sufficient interest can be drawn to give APR an incentive to move the schedule forward. If you are, can you just reply on here to note your interest?
GTom (thanks!) appears to be offering up his Jetta for APR testing for this system, btw.

draggin this out of the dust heap because i have a new question to ask.
With the Jetta 1.4 TSI, the stock bumper has the exhaust pipes hidden. (pic)
In any serious mod to upgrade (e.g. turbo back or cat back), is it necessary to have them open up the bumper (with cut outs) so the exhaust tips point straight back? Is it possible to still have them facing down like stock without sacrificing any performance gains? Are there any issues to consider if I want to upgrade the exhaust but still keep them 'hidden' (e.g. exhaust notes sound different, environmental issues, exhaust gas spewing back towards car and getting caught under bumper)??
thanks'09 Jetta 1.4 TSI 7spd DSG in Platinum Gray

Spiff, I was thinking along the same lines when posting this some time ago...... I suppose the general rule of thumb is..... to gain maximum exhaust flow we would need to eliminate as many corners and curves as possible within the exhaust pipe....... the outlet on our Jettas is yet another corner. I doubt though it would make a considerable difference in our case but if some has tried an upgrade I would love to see it and a dyno chart to support it.Tiggy 125TSI, 6 speed manual, tints, comfort pack.
