    Ok Guys.

Problem resolved. Near DSG unit (including another mechatronics unit) has been installed in the R32.

Final diagnosis...faulty clutch in the DSG unit was causing the clunking and thumping.

With regards to the brakes - glazed surface, although brakes have now be deglazed three times. Anyone got suggestions as to why this keeps happening?

Not too sure if it was the pads that were glazed or whether it was the rotor, however i don't ride them that hard. My understanding is that glazing occurs when you exceed the operating temperature of the material.

    Cheers.

for a performance pad, glazing (or similar feel/result) will also occur by riding them a low speed and braking at lower than operating temperatures. City driving sucks on performance pads.

I say this without having knowledge of the R32 brakes, but have had performance pads on cars. Takes a couple of stops to get em up to temp, wasn't uncommon in winter to half press the brake before corners for a couple of kms from home till they had some bite.

Well, this makes sense then. Every morning and afternoon is a 30 minute drive in bumper to bumper traffic.

        Cheers
