  • Programable keys for different mirror settings

    Hi,
I just purchased a new MY10 Jetta 118 TSI. Both my wife and I drive the car and both of us have very different rear view mirrior settings. Is there anyway to program your individual keys to remember the position settings of the rear view mirriors? I believe you can do it for electronic seats (which I don't have) but since the mirrors are electronic controlled, can you have the settings stored in a memory?

    Thanks & regards

Works well with my Memory Seats, not sure if it can be done t=with out the seats though as it contains the memory module.

Nope only with a memory seat as ope126 pointed out.

I reckon a far more beneficial option would be a different DSG memory for a different key. Nothing worse than getting in the car and it driving like its broken after adjusting to someone else's driving.

Gotta love that..... I let my mum drive my car while i was away... Bad move. I had to ask her what did she do to it??? Went from fun to a NANA in 2 days.

What information does the DSG remember and how does that affect one's driving? I mean how does it improve the driving experiance and thus lack off when someone else drives it.

My car is driven by me and my wife (mostly me). So what happens when she drives it say for a short distance to the shops?

            Cheers

The DSG will remember the way the car is driven ie: acceleration & braking inputs. If you drive with a bit more, how shall we say it, assertiveness than your wife, when she comes to drive the car it will want to react differently to the way she normally drives. It will want to hold onto lower gears longer etc like it is expecting to be driven a bit harder... The car will become used to being driven harder if you drive it the majority of the time. This is assuming you drive the car harder than your wife. If not then just reverse all I have said....

              Hope you get that.....

I agree. Something I thought of the other day. I get a 'bunny hop' when slowing down and it shifts from 3rd to 2nd. It doesn't happen when my wife drives the car.
