The 235's must fill the guards out nicely!

Just wondering why wider tyres would change the speedo, isnt it if the profile is different (ie 40 to 45)? Assume you aren't lowered because i considered getting 235's but pretty sure i'd scrub more with ET45 and 8".

profile is a percentage of the width so 225*.4 gives you the profile height in mm hence 235 *.4 diameter is greater

also have the same size tyres!

Cheers wasn't sure as they are both called '40'.

Sucks how the speedo is still out after adjusting it in Vagcom, but probably a good thing and saves you.

              good one and

Ratio is a % of width so height increases a little. No rubbing.

                    Cheers looks good.

Do you find it helps with getting extra grip going wider, or just the nice feeling of new rubber!?

Ive had S Drives on my SLK and they were a very clean tyre... ie. no vices, good grip etc.

                            Bazzle,

How many k ms did you get out of the OEM tyres? And was it all freeway/suburban? or was there some 'spirited' efforts on 'closed' roads?
