R32 stock sound system

Does anyone know what brand the stock system is in the R32?

i think they are made by Blaupunkt unit.

Edit:

though having just said that, i went and pulled out my old RCD300, and it says made by Visteon in Portugal

though im certain that my RCD510 was a Blaupunkt.

Thanks for the reply. I love the car its awsome but the stereo blows. Not in the same league as the macintosh that's in my 08 liberty.

Might have to look at getting an upgrade.

yes, i think the stereo system in the MK5 was an after thought,
(especially with regard to speaker placements) the sound stage sits way too far towards the rear.

They dont have dynaudio in golf mkv's..
go get a custom install, it will be much better than stock

I've got Dynaudio (aftermarket) speakers and they are a step above and worth the extra over cheaper brands.

Just for the record when I upgraded my TDI sound in stages, an aftermarket headunit on the stock speakers made a huge difference, far more than the sub, amp and Boston's all round that followed. Better for sure, but a head upgrade alone gives the best bang for buck in my opinion.

Thanks cogdoc. Thats interesting as other peolple are saying the complete opposite! That the head unit is fine just the speakers and amp that require upgrade.

There are a few different ways to go about it, but aftermarket HU isn't really the answer and the output still isn't anything like an aftermarket amp.

Look into the Audison BitOne.1 processors, massive improvement and proves there is nothing wrong with the stock HU (plus you get signal summing, EQ, Time alignment etc).

I don't have any experience with the Audison unit, but I've never been a big fan of electronic wizardry messing with the sound. If the head unit is good enough (when I get the RNS-510) I'd be happy to get a simple but good quality conservatively rated amp and some high end speakers.

I have an RNS510 inputting into an arc audio ks mini 125.4 amp that is neatly fitted under the passenger seat in my R. It's a good amp.... clean and clear. Splits are Alpine SPX17REFs... sounds fine.
