And it still bloody axle tramps! so we have another tramp placebo to go with the TAI.

I was skeptical from the start how a pair of solid control arm bushings would have any effect on wheel hop.

    ah well coilovers next..

    Coilovers won't help the tramp.

Well, at least mind didn't... I haven't "tuned" them though...

Dogbone helped quite a bit though.

Collectively they dampen it - coilovers did the most for me.
I hardly ever get it now with coilovers and a black forest TAI.

The WALK is on my list, but more for its handling properties than anything about axle tramp.
Easiest mod is reducing the pressure from your right foot though.. and that one is free.

                Engine mount...

                Torque Arm Insert..

                Like this.

                http://www.goapr.com.au/products/eng...nt_insert.html

Made a difference on mine (tramp was AWEFUL before this went in), but didn't eliminate it completely. Coilovers didn't really do anything much at all..

Cabin vibrations definately up, but you do get used to them after a short while...

ahh, that thing. Couldn't for the life of me work out the acronym that time. Got one of those early on, did indeed make a big difference on the stock setup. Thanks K man.

Chris, I don't get much wheel hop on launch (with the torque arm insert installed).

I suppose it depends on the surface & your tyre pressures as well. Here is a video at the drags - you can see we do a soft launch (basically roll it off the line). Car has plenty of camber, so it's not really set up for drag racing.

yeah only reason why I gave it a go was because a few members recommended it for the tramp, like I said I was skeptical.. I swore Id never install solid caster bushes like that after having them in my BMW..

Definitely agree with you Guy on surface and tyre pressure. On a perfectly smooth road Its not so bad, but if its a bit bumpy or the road is wet, bang bang bang. Its also gotten worse with the ku36 kumho's.

Im thinking your sway bars wouldve been more help than the WALK..

The more grip you have the less axle tramp you will get.

Thats why the 9 and 10 second boys don't snap many axles and stuff.. they have too much grip with slicks and super wide tyres.

I think if you fit better tyres and run lower pressure you will get less tramp. If one tyre has slightly more grip and you don't have a good LSD then power shoots to the other side and starts a tramp cycle going back side to side as it grips and slips.

If you have grip both sides.. then power just gets applied. Alternatively if you have very low grip both wheels will spin without smashing up and down, but you won't be moving very fast in a FWD thats spinning totally.

Sadly the only way to stop axles tramp in a front wheel drive is to buy an four wheel drive
