Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Mk5 seats. When did they change?

    Hi All,

I'm looking around for a used Mk5 at the moment and have driven both a 2005 2.0 TDI Comfortline and a 2007 version. The 2005 had really uncomfortable seats, seemed a bit hard and flat for my tall frame. The 2007 had much better seats for me. Does anyone know when the seats were changed? Would the 2006 model have the "newer" type of seats?

    Thank you,

    Andrew

THere was an option for Sport Seats - is it possible that the 2005 had these?

The Comfortline has very ordinary seats, and the Pacific has the sports seats from the Sportline. These seats are very comfortable over long distances.

          Thanks for the suggestions all.
Looks like I should have payed some more attention when having a look at them. Hopefully the 2005 model is still at the car yard and I'll be able to check out the seats a bit closer to work out why they don't suit me.
Will post something here if I get it sussed.

          Thanks again,

          Andrew

The sports seats ( also the leather option) have an electronic lumbar support, if you set this wrong they can feel uncomfortable - check the setting.
