How to change a glove box light?

Seriously pull it out and have a look, DON'T LAUGH.. I won't publish photos as some ppl might get serious complications. I guess the same team designed DSG and this little masterpiece. I guess a dealer will charge $20 for replacement, might be $50. I have it opened on my desk, not sure if I should cry or laugh.. It has 5W bulb in series with 1N4007 diode and specially designed fixture and metal cover !!! Designed to be replaced ...not repaired.
I will remove everything and put white LED instead. I wonder if French cars are better designed....
