Haha thanks, it's just a real shame that everyone I see driving them look to be retired (and doing 20 under for that matter). Hopefully I can change that

I think it looks great, Alex.

Even though I don't go in for massively modified cars (wankers tend to drive them)

I think the changes you have made are subtle, refined and in keeping with the innate sense of style of the Jetta owner, whatever their age.

I would suggest you start a savings account for some shocks in the future, as remembering the car was designed with the springs you removed, and such the shocks will see less life

Just be careful with the HIDs..


If I recall correctly, a mate of mine got pulled over because he installed Aftermarket HIDs (which is apparently illegal since you need headlight sprayers for HID bulbs) because his lights seemed odd.

Good mods though, looks great once it's dropped!

I've got a 2.0TFSI myself and looking to go down the performance track =P

There is SO much to do to the TFSI's.. They can become such a rocket!!

As for the lights, they aren't HIDs. They're just the clusters that replicate the the HIDs but using Halogen H7 bulbs..

Hmm yeah in NSW.. You see QT doesn't issue us free P plates like the RTA does so we're allowed to have them on the inside to prevent them from getting stolen...

Also, after driving the Jetta for about three weeks now, noticing a couple of DSG issues, which I was wondering if anybody else has found..

First thing is the sluggish start off the line.... the DSG seems to struggle to find first, and there's a bit of a delay before power gets to the wheels. Does anybody else get this issue?

Also, I've got a 2.0 TFSI 2006 Model so I've missed out on the introduction of launch control (which is just a superb function to have!) into the DSGs. Is it possible to flash the DSG electronics/programming to include Launch control?

Apart from these two issues, the DSG is one of the best transmissions on the market right now, and is definitely the transmission of the future (esp as heaps of manual drivers start converting over!)

I have the same problem with the DSG.. I believe it's because when the brake's on, the DSG goes into a "neutral" mode. When you release the brake and press the gas, the car has to find first and go.. There is a way to partially eliminate the lag:

When you've stopped the car, release the brakes so you feel the car wanting to creep forward without it actually moving. Then when you go to press the gas, the car should be a little more responsive off the line. Hope that helps a bit

Also as for the flashing of Launch Control.. I think it can be done because I heard something about it and asked. I can tell you it can't be done on TDI's

Correct me if im wrong, but im pretty sure that all 2.0T Jettas have launch control... Its been said so many times, the 2.0T Jettas are basically GTI Golfs but with a boot...

When I put it in sport mode, and I press on the brake and then if I proceed to step on the gas, the car seems to be trying to get off the line, but my brakes are holding it down...

I figure if I pushed the throttle to anywhere near the 3000 rpm range, I'd be damaging my engine or drivetrain... =[


For all those Launch control enabled V-dubs out there, how does it feel when you press the brake and gas at the same time? Does the car just feel like it's revving in neutral?
