  • Black LED Tail Lights

Broke one of my normal lights and it was only twice the cost to get these lights vs just 1 left inside tail light. LOL

Makes the black trim of the GT really pop out and not look like it needs colour coding.

Very bright LED's and they come on super fast when u touch brake which is handy for safety... my primary concern.

Looks okay but it needs more red on it and they need to match withthe inner lights on each side imho.

The whole point was to lose the red as all the trim on the car is either black or white. At night it really pops as the led's are super bright on either side.

Not too bad. You're right about it matching the black trim/windows..

          nice work Polar!

where did you get the LED tails from?

and can you post up a pic of the entire rear of the car?

          thanks, F

PS i noticed you removed the centre caps off the wheels, weight saving much

Looks pretty good from here. Would need to see from a distance to get a better all round perspective.

At MASSIVE effort I have removed the left inner lights red disc cover thing

So now both sides look clear from the back which is a HUGE improvement.

Now I just have to go to auto shop and get a polish ball to get the scratches out of the clear shell that I couldn't help doing.

Then I am going to edge the lights in gloss black as the inner lights have grey glue instead of black like the outer ones.

I got these lights from VAG-TEAM2 on ebay I think. $280 delivered.

You gonna swap the rear foggy globe to the RHS or not bother about it?
Are they easy to pull apart, or a b!tch to work with?

I removed the left hand side red disc.. so both lights have clear now.. If I have cop hastles I will just put a red bulb on right hand side.

I have to say to anyone considering painting their own rear or front lights black after prying them open.

DONT DO IT! It's an absolute bloody mission and your going to damage **** most probably. Even if you don't damage bits there is slight warpage.

Anyhow I am covering up all my bad work with some black gloss edging around both rear inner lights so they match.

IT should look a lot more symetrical (and better) with the red disc removed.

Might have some issues with the lack of red in the tailights but as you said you can always replace it.

The two red reflector discs stick out big time under any source of light.

So They give the impression of having enough red in them when light is on them.

I'm pretty happy with the result and its cheap too.
