Its a 08 GTI DSG, everytime when take off (no acceleration, just let the car roll by itself) or in reverse gear (same w/o my acceleration), the car seems to shudder before move, I've taken to service for other problem while telling them this, the mechanic said THIS IS NORMAL, he said if I drive a diesel golf, its even worst, can someone tell me if this is BULL or TRUE?

GTI shudders when take off or reverse?

I had a MK6 TDI DSG for a loan while my GT was in for a service and I absolutely hated driving the thing.
The DSG's mechanism for changing clutches was rather rough for my liking, I expect that in a manual gearbox, but not one that's computer controlled.
And I find the shudder is like when the engine is on the virge of stalling out because you're taking off from idle RPMs and I think it fully engages the clutch too early.
In otherwords, try giving it more gas when taking off and you shouldn't feel the shudder.
