Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. • FYI - Door sill trims are on ebay for ~$20

For anyone interested I just snatched some 5 door stainless/chrome Golf door sill trims for $18 plus bit of shipping from EBAY.

Seller mini-43 seems to have lots of sets

    UPDATE!!!

2 diff sets from 2 diff ebay vendors. One vendor was a UK EBay seller: superdials
they makes the GT ones... They also sell GTI / R32 etc. Top top quality fit and finish on these.

The funny thing is the OEM Golf ones were not that great fitting at the back but perfect in the front. The non OEM was perfect fit front and back (GT ones)

They look pretty good & they sell MK6 ones too which are probably the same. Can you let us know if you are happy with the end product when they materialise as I need some too. Just saw a set described thus on eBay:

"Simply way on eyes catching! All know you're cool once your car door open!!"

      Don't you love it.

I have some of those - paid a fair bit more than that last year

They're very nice - really solid and relatively heavy (careful, Polar!)

          Ahhhh..

I'm about to compensate for a lot of sins if I can source these at reasonable shipping price. Can you say "Polars car is now 40kg lighter" 2 times fast!

Seat adaptors so you can run fixed bucket seats! Trimmed in nice alcantara leather too!

Just so you know, in the latest Dieselpower mag there is a 10300 pound F truck that ran 13.25. The shootout winner ran 11.07 in his 7660 pound Dodge.

You can have your bucket seats, I'm chasing NM baby!

HEHE NM results in super amounts of smoke not faster 0-100 on a FWD.

I think the APR cars result in Motor mag bears that out

You will WTFPWN me going uphills when we have a caravan towing race though!

hello all , l have been looking at these door sills but if they stick on , is it possible that water and dirt may gather underneath them and then cause rust.
                    thanks robert
