103 TDI engine number location

Hi guys

Blue slip coming up to NSW-ify my Jetta.
They need to sight the engine number of my Jetta. Does anyone know where it is so I can tell the mech to save a bit of time?

I have a vague recollection I read a thread about this recently, but not sure which engine it was. IIRC it was very difficult to see, and I had a vague idea it might have been down low near the gearbox or on the firewall side (or I might be completely wrong ). Having a borescope/endoscope can be very useful for this sort of stuff.

I also need to get a NSW blueslip so I can transfer the rego from South Australia.
Would anyone know the location of the engine number on the actual engine block (103TDI) please? The stickers are not good enough for NSW RTA.

1) VW Australia don't know.
2) VW Germany won't reply to my email.
3) VW Service dealers don't know.
