  • Bluetooth options for Mid Line MFD and Possible RCD510 upgrade

    Hi Guys,

I want to install a blue tooth kit in the golf its a MK5 09 TDI edition, I'm looking at upgrading my standard CD player to the RNS510 or RCD510.

Im down to two options on the bluetooth front the skoda kit or the Fiscon unit , Will they work without any problems without the multimedia unit in yet and only a half hight driver display ?

I understand that it wont show anything up but will it cause any errors or the unit to stop functioning , would be good to hear what other people have done in this situation

    Bump.
I'm doing the same thing at the moment, but with my MY07 MKV.

Personally I'm going to wait until I get both before I get them installed, no point installing one and then a few weeks later having to pull everything out again.

I'm just deciding whether to try and get the VW/Skoda kit or the basic parrot.

I to am considering this, currently in my MY07 GTI I have an RCD300, no blue tooth and midline MFD.

In an ideal world, my desired configuration would be RNS510, Skoda bluetooth and highline MFD change. But funds will dictate timing.

Since bluetooth is a priority over the other two, would the Skoda kit (or Fiscon) work with the RCD300 and midline MFD, all be it, with limited functionality. (basic handsfree).
