  • DIY Interior Trim Painting- A B C Pillars

VHT Vinyl Dye Black... Great product goes on so nicely. Like your spraying black talcom powder on it. No runs, no Drips. Soaks into fabric just like you want it too. Several light coats gets a nice even colour. You can paint the plastic and the trim together, though for the B pillar I took the middle bit out by pulling along the long edge of the bit that moves up and down to pry it out.

    RESULT

Installed B pillars now! Looks amazing inside.

Nice work. Thats a really good job. Do you plan on doing the whole headling or replacing the headlining to match? Thats one thing i hate about my R is the whitish coloured A pillars and headlining. I am slowly getting used to it though.

Hmmm I think I will paint the other pillars to match and thats about it.

If I fit some leather seats I might bother doing the whole lot and buy some anthracite handles and bits and pieces.

You can reuse the airbag clips, just sprayed them and the airvent gloss black.

How much does the coat of paint weight though?

          My white pillars are lighter.

Why wouldn't you just buy GTI pillars - wouldnt be too much from spare parts and wouldn't look cheap or tacky.

I have offset the weight by removing plastic clips around the place that seem to be for stuff that our Aus Vw's don't have.

Basically, every part of my car gets a Judgement day where they make a case to remain onboard.

                    GTI has a dark interior.

Didn't even know they came with anything else. haha. Beige. How tacky.

I Like the beige, lightens up the interior...

Are you going to do something with the roof lining?

I did the back pillars and the plastic trim, also using the VHT Vinyl Dye paint. Worked a treat on plastic too!

What what what, rear seats back in?

And what's with that super heavy enclosure and subwoofer?

Interesting to see how long the spray paint holds up.

People should check it out in person if possible before taking to their own cars.
