Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Probably not.

They have 'lemon' laws in the US and VWGoA are simply covering their backsides in my view.

My cousin return her Lexus three times to a dealer to fix a front-end alignment problem which wasn't fixed and Toyota ended up giving her money back.

She ended up buying a Jaguar instead.

So if you think this is all a magnanimous gesture on the part of VW, think again.!

    It won't happen here.

Spot on, I know that the US have some stupid legal stuff, however I think their lemon laws are one of the good things they have that should be here as well.

I agree. Especially considering whatever problems were highlighted with the DSG in the US must surely be a factor here, as well.
