It may be that I am miss reading your description but it reads to me that you turned right across opposite direction traffic when it was obviously not safe to do so.

Don't blame the Subaru, it reads that you were at fault and he is most probably complaining on a Subaru chat room about a F***** VW who turned in front of him.

That's how I read it too. From the supplied photos, I would say that's how it would appear also.
