  • GTI grill replacement ??

Hi, I'm hoping someone can come up with a solution to my problem, I recently picked up a MK5 GTI with Euro plates fitted but want to change to a set of black and white 5 digit plates. The front grill has been drilled for the euro plate holder and when removed will leave some excess holes. The dealer wants $330 plus fitting to change over grill, ebay has one from china for $190delivered. Is there any other solutions ? Can the chinese one be trusted ?
I also have the same problem for the rear, so probably repair holes/repaint is likely.
Any help or alternative solution would be appreciated.
    Pete

      Hey Mate,

Just buy the part from VW spare parts and affix it yourself.

The grilles clip on easily and are held by a few torx screws so you can do this yourself easily.

A couple of DIY's should be available online as well with pictures.

Use dome headed or coach bolts in the holes?
