  • DSG Anomaly

Uh oh. Just had my first DSG anomaly...
Was at a servo and just finished topping up my tyres with air. I started the car, shifted into what I thought was D and put my foot on the accelerator - revs but no forward movement. I thought "dummy, put it in D not N"... looked down to see it WAS in D, and looked at the MFD and saw the D flashing! I shifted it bank into N, and after a few seconds wondering what's going on, I shifted back to D. It then worked fine and drove off.

    Woah.

    Any idea what that maybe

As per the manual book it into your VW dealer, could mean a number of things have gone wrong and it could have been a one off. At least get it looked it and they can see if there any errors logged but at the very least it will be logged if you have the problem again.

      Thanks.

What I should of said was: has this happened to anybody else, and what was the outcome?

      cheers!

As I said it could be anything, you don't have any specific error and that's a general error that you received with the lights flashing. Unless you have access to a tool to scan for errors there is no way to tell if it's serious or just some one off occurrence. That error can mean anything from gearbox failure to mechatronic failure to a sensor playing up or a loose connector under the hood.

Thanks. I know what to do.
I'm just asking if anybody else has had this problem, and what the fix, if any, was. Curiosity.

Yes others have had the same issue. Not me.
The fix has been one of the following: (as stated by Mav too)
            1. Loose connectors
            2. Sensor replacement.
            3. Mechatronics replacement.
            4. Scan and fault code cleared.
            5. Gone away on restart and never came back.
            6. DSG reset (VCDS or dealer)
