  • R32 MkV on Dyno

Had the R32 on the 4wd dyno at Melbourne Performance Centre on Saturday

138.1 kw at the wheels for my R32 on that particular dyno in 4wd mode.

Standard engine is 184kw minus 30% (that dyno op figures) for 4wd losses on etc = 129kw

Baz did you or Nath dyno front wheel mode only??

as rob mentioned on mkv, our haldex system isnt permanent all wheel drive so detecting how much slip and power goes to the rear is kinda hard to predict.

when i get mine on, i might try front wheel only and then with awd.

    also any dyno graph??

4wd mode. All wheels spin up from near idle.
Apparently mk4s dont properly, mk5's do.

Run performed in 4th gear in DSG

That's not bad bazzle, what mods have you got? Just the retune?

Stock R32 seem to do around 125kW so seems like the loss is close to 30%.

I got up to 149kW at all fours with all mods up to date (but that includes headers).

I will start a thread soon on my car as i dont want to clutter Bazzles thread, however the mods include BMC CDA intake, APR R32 retune & Harding Performance MS Headers. Also have a Milltek catback which i feel helps too.

Just the retune and the inlet flap to the airbox opened up and bent down to cover hot air inlet path from engine bay under the lift off cover between front panel and airbox..

                      slightly OT

what were Melbourne Performance Centre like?

                      dyno facilities adequate?

you think a dyno day would be good held there?

                      cheers

                      PS: nice figures

PPS: did the DSG shift up in 4th @ redline?
                      I'm selling my VR6

                        Fabulous facilities.
Yes worth approaching re a Dyno day.
The one I went too was hosted by the BMW car club of vic.

The cars being worked on were nearly all exotics or top running road and track cars.
Other vehicles there were an M3 with over 300kw at the wheels and a 4 year old commodore street reg with over 600kw.
Made some standard BMWs, Lambos and Aston Martins (also there) seem like wind up toys.
No stayed in 4th as throttle cut by operator at % drop from peak afaik.
