  • advice for upgrade

I am currently looking for an upgrade for my pirelli. I don't track it but I don't drive it soft either. So, I know that the factory turbo back exhaust is not really good with the airflow and might overheat/overwork the turbo. And if i've done that, do I need high-flow cats? or some other SOFTER alternatives? I'm not into serious performance, just better flow for my blocked-up pirelli..
    Some advice will be great!

    you want better flow?
    get your ECU reflashed.
best bang for buck mod.....and you'll be laughing all the way. APR, GIAC, revo, bluefin....any of them. Do a search as the ECU chip wars are never ending and then decide which one you want to go with.

then you can look into a full TBE or just a catback....done

you already have a pirelli. not much u really need to do.

I see, I've already got it flashed by evolve already.. coming close to 300 BHP from the engine, nice jump really. But i know when i rev the engine at standstill, I can hear the burbly crackling sound; like air forcing to come out, all over the place. Just want a more smoother pathway for the air to flow, and without overdoing it.. lol.. I'm not so sure if it works that way

If you want a irritating noise and no performance gain, then yes. go for the cat back.

If you want a freeer flowing spool and nicer top end flow get a downpipe. An intake will help 2, but DP will be better IMO. you can go for the full TBE but no performance gains over the DP

If you want some great gains I would not stuff around and go for a whole new system. Down pipe, high flow metal cat, straight through resonator and a straight through rear muffler
A cat back system will give u a gain but only slight. The biggest restricting factors on a turbo charged cars system is the small original down pipe(s), the cat and any muffler which is not straight through.
Yes flashing gives gains however there is still suffocated KW's to be gained in the exhaust.

Ps: Better flow also means the odd flame belching out the tail pipe on overun too

I see, thanks guys. So, downpipe is the same term and turboback?

Down pipe is the same term as - dump pipe, turbo back system.
Basically the down pipe (dump pipe) is the first section of exhaust which comes off the exhaust housing on the turbo and then generally the next part in the system is a small section of straight pipe before the cat converter.

                :p
