I know this is a holy thread revival, but I wanted to share my activities for the day.
As some of you may know, I recently bought some US spec tail lighs for my car. These have a very similar set up to the Golf only it doesn't have a red lense where the fog lamp should be:
I've been searching high and low for a red, single filament bulb to replace the regular clear bulb but have had no luck. I've visited multiple Autobarns, Super Cheaps and Repcos but all I could find were dual filament (stop/tail). I didn't really trust buying bulbs online so I didn't really know what to do.
Until today, I took a trip to Autobarn to get a new reverse bulb when I thought I'd ask, and the girl handed me this:
Red lense paint. It comes with an applicator attached to the lid and goes on quite smoothly.

I'll take a picture and post it when it's dried. Hopefully it'll be red enough
