Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Roadside Assist

    Hi guys

If you buy a 2nd hand Jetta (or any other VW probably) that's under warranty, is the roadside assist transferable?

Is it a replacement for NRMA Roadside assist?

    cheers!

As far as I know it is. I suggest ringing them up, and talking to them. Make sure you have the VIN of the vehicle, and they may send you out a new Roadside Assist card too.

It should be, the Roadside Assist is a vehicle cover, not a personal (IIRC).

If you need assistance in QLD, they send out an RACQ van.

How does that work? VW give 3 years with each new car and you can't transfer it because it stays with the car.

The new car had three years included and the old one had 12 months to go so they extended the expiry date by 12 months.

Just give them a call and they'll let you know what they can/will do for you.
