  • GTI Engine Bay Noise

So anyway today my dad was going heading out and as he was reversing out the driveway I could hear a strange coming from his engine bay. It sounds like an air leak or something on the drivers side near the engine cover.

It sounds a bit like when you get your blood pressure taken with and they use that squeezy thing (ie. an air pumping in and then out ticking type of noise). When the accelerator was pressed the sound seems to get more rapid.

Anyone with an idea if that sound is normal and what it is or if it it's not normal, what the problem could be?

Car is an MY07 GTI DSG.

    Cheers,
    Trent

Probably just air passing through the air intake somewhere. The loudest noise you hear from the engine bay of a TSI is the high pressure injectors ticking, so really I don't take any notice of any other noise, except the lovely induction noise under full throttle!

Check & make sure the oil level dipstick is pushed all the way in.
