Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • The fastest green frog in QLD..

Checking out the oil level on the R32, found this little hitchhiker:

Yep, that there is a juvenile green tree frog, good to see them multiplying with all the cane toads around here.

I think he was probably feeling a bit ripped off, R32 hasnt been used very much lately, he wasnt too keen about being relocated from the volksy to a safe spot in the garden.

Hehe what a cool little frog.
The sound has probably hypnotized him into a VW induced coma.

Actually talking about things hiding under the bonnet, a few weeks ago in the morning I started the car and a cat scrambled out from underneath it.

It was lucky I have to glow the car in the morning, I think thats what made it move. Hearing things beeping and what not.

                  Glad it didn't get caught

This is what you dont want to find under your bonnet...

That ones from the states, i have heard of them creeping in here too though.. there was a guy in Adelaide that bought a car from country qld a few years back and had it trucked down, he found a 1.2 metre carpet python under the bonnet.

In scandinavia they have problems with squirrels nesting under the bonnet, main problem with that is they love chewing on stuff....like electrical wiring!

Persistant little bugger keeps on coming back, think he may have got a bit motion sick after this quick trip up to Taringa, had to relocate him into the console pocket for the trip home.

yes at porsche we had a few cars come in that had rats nest in them and eat into the wiring looms, needed to replace full wiring looms and only on nice cars too like GT3's and 911 turbos
aparently its because they live on the water and the get water rats looking for a warm place to rest

so id be pritty happy with just a little tree frog, besides who isnt atracted to a 32
