  • Jetta TFSI VIN

    Hey boys and girls,

After the recent run in I had with a pole, I've been looking at alternative rear valances for my car. One I like is the GLI type from the USA..

Now could anybody tell me; is the rear valance from the GLI the same as the 2.0 TFSI model here? If it is, could you please PM me your VIN so the parts people at VW know what part number to order? It wil only be used only for that reason and nothing else, I promise! Even better, if you could provide me with the par number, I'd appreciate it heaps!

If not, I'll have to try and source a VIN from a GLI in the States...

    Thanks!

Just rock up to a dealership, ask to have a look at a TFSI and jot down the VIN...

Yes and no.. I'm not after the kit. Just the rear valance. Looking at both the TFSI and the GLI, I don't think there's any difference other than colour coding so hopefully I can source that part without having to import it from the USA. Oh and the extra cost of new exhaust tips, but it'll be worth it

Hehe well if I can get ahold of the valance i'm after, it'll be just the tips for now. But in the long run (before next years Nats) i'm going to be doing the whole exhaust, remap, lowering and intake. They're my plans!! And can't wait till it's alll done.

WOW ok so just got off the phone to Gold Coast VW and they've told me the only part that has the exhaust cut out is the Primed bumper extension which is about $1,300!! That won't be happening considering the satin black part is about $400.. Haha.

In the long run though, I'll just get a section of the new valance cut out when I get my new exhaust if I decide to go that way...

1K5 807 521 A was the cheaper, direct replacement for the part i've got now and 1K5 807 433 A was the heaps more expensive part. Can't really understand why there's such a huge difference for it to be primered and that's it...

But now, i've enquired about a GLI conversion kit that includes the front lip, skirts and rear valance from oemplus.com (http://oemplus.com/index.php?main_pa...roducts_id=774). If it all fits and if shipping isn't too expensive, i'll most likely get this package so I can get it all done in one go. Then i'll be off to the sprayer to see if we can get it coded and matched (similar to what isaw has on his GTI). LOL i'm one undecided mofo right?
                        Update
I shot an e-mail off to oemplus and they've told me the package is too large to ship to Australia... I guess this is where my relations in New York come in handy... lol

About the exhaust from where are you planning to get it?, a particular brand?, Remus, Superspring, Magnaflow, Borla?, I'm stuck finding where!!!

                            Cheers!!

The parts aren't coded.. They come in the textured satin black that we already have on our Valances. It really annoys be seeing as i'm going to be paying for the shipping and all.. But I imagine they would be the same colour codes in the USA..

I was thinking about Dynalook lights but given my car's black; I've decided to go the Hella OEM Xenon replicas (actually Halogen) available from TM Tuning. Make sure you post some pics of the installed Dynabeams and a review on how they work!!

As for the exhaust, I'm not too sure for the brands. I've gone to my mechanic and told him what I want to do and now i'm waiting for a response with options and prices. I already know that i'll be getting the chip by Oettinger.. That's the only thing i'm sure of =P. As for being at the same stage, we can PM eachother through our processes
